Get has several different meanings.  Here are the most common:



To receive/acquire/obtain:

He got a lot of votes in the last election.

I managed to get a copy of the report.



To become + adjective:

He got angry when he saw the results of the election.

I get nervous before I give a speech.



To take/bring:
